--- ## Description The ACS-Hach Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Scholarship provides financial and mentoring support to recent graduates and graduate students with limited work experience who are committed to becoming high school chemistry teachers. The scholarship assists recipients as they pursue a Masters degree in education or work towards certification as a secondary chemistry or science teacher. In addition to the financial award, recipients benefit from ongoing mentoring throughout their three-year teaching commitment. Scholarship stipends can be used for tuition, books, room and board, and other education-related expenses, and are renewable for up to three years. This program is part of the broader ACS-Hach initiative to support chemistry educators at all stages of their careers. --- ## Due Dates - May 1, 2026: Full application submission deadline --- ## Funding Amount - Up to $6,000 per year for full-time study - Up to $3,000 per year for part-time study - Renewable for up to three years - Funds are distributed in equal installments twice per academic year and can be used for tuition, books, room and board, and other education-related expenses - Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively --- ## Eligibility Applicants must: - Hold a bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry or a chemistry-related discipline (see list below) - Have less than one year of work experience outside of obtaining undergraduate and graduate degrees - Demonstrate an interest and commitment to becoming a secondary (high school) educator - Be accepted into a U.S. education masters program or teacher certification program - Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident **Eligible Chemistry-Related Disciplines include:** - Agricultural Chemistry - Biochemistry - Ceramic Science/Chemistry/Technology - Chemical Engineering - Chemical Technology - Environmental Science/Engineering (must be chemistry-based) - Forensic Science/Chemistry - Food Science (not Nutrition) - Industrial Chemistry - Materials Science or Petroleum Engineering - Nanotechnology or Nanoscience - Paper and Pulp Technology - Toxicology If you have more than one year of work experience, consider the [ACS-Hach Second Career Teacher Scholarship](https://www.acs.org/funding/scholarships-fellowships/acs-hach-second-career-teacher-scholarship.html). --- ## Application Process 1. **Create an account** on the [ACS application portal](https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=acs). 2. Select “2026 ACS-Hach Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Scholarship.” 3. Complete the Letter of Intent (LOI). After review and approval (allow one business day), you will receive the application form. 4. Complete and submit the required materials, including: - Preferred contact information (two email addresses) - One-page resume or CV - Transcripts from all degree-granting institutions - Admittance letter to your education program - Personal narrative (four short essays) 5. Submit the application by May 1, 2026. Only fully submitted applications will be considered.
