Description
The American Chemical Society’s Preparing Chemical Technical Professionals (PrepareCTP) Grant supports U.S.-based two-year colleges in expanding access to training, career pathways, and employer connections. Part of ACS’s Fostering a Skilled Technical Workforce Initiative, the program aims to build a more inclusive and resilient chemical workforce. It focuses on chemical technical professionals—people in laboratory support roles without PhDs—and work that connects education, workforce needs, and community benefit.
Supported activities include scholarships and stipends that reduce student barriers, internships and co-ops with employers, equipment and curriculum improvements, and faculty time to develop partnerships or innovative programming. These examples do not limit proposal innovation. ACS encourages projects that reflect institutional and community strengths and needs while preparing students with in-demand skills and strengthening local employer partnerships.
