--- ## Description This grant provides active ACS Student Chapters, International Student Chapters, and Graduate Student Organizations (GSOs) with up to $1,000 to support initiatives that foster student engagement, strengthen group unity, and promote professional development. Funded activities may include outreach events, career workshops, and projects that enhance the growth and cohesion of ACS-affiliated student groups. The program aims to empower student communities to organize meaningful events aligned with the core values of the American Chemical Society, encouraging active participation and leadership among members. --- ## Due Dates - Applications are accepted year-round with **no fixed deadline**. - Submissions are reviewed every two weeks in the order received. - Groups may receive this grant up to twice per year. --- ## Funding Amount - Maximum award: **$1,000 per application** - Each eligible group may receive funding **up to two times per year** - Funds are limited and awarded competitively --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must be **active ACS Student Chapters**, **ACS International Student Chapters**, or **ACS Graduate Student Organizations (GSOs)** - To be considered active: - Maintain at least **six members** with current [ACS student membership](https://www.acs.org/membership.html) at the premium package level - For Student Chapters and International Student Chapters: must have chartered, reactivated, or submitted a report within the last three years - The faculty advisor must be an ACS member (Premium or Standard package) - Only active chapters/GSOs may apply; groups must not exceed the two-award-per-year limit --- ## Application Process 1. **Create a student community email address** (if not already available) 2. **Register for an account** in the [ACS grant application system](https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=acs) 3. Select "Apply" under the Applicant Menu and choose the appropriate grant cycle (e.g., "2026 ACS Student Communities Engagement Grant") 4. Complete the application, including: - Proposal name - Date and location of event - Budget and detailed list of expenses - Description of event/activity and intended audience - Connection to ACS core values - Safety considerations (RAMP analysis recommended) - Sources of other funding (if any) 5. **Submit the application** (drafts are not considered submitted) 6. Confirmation of submission is sent via email within one business day **Note:** Awarded funds are sent to the university or chapter bank account.
