--- ## Description This grant funds activities led by ACS Student Chapters, International Student Chapters, and Graduate Student Organizations (GSOs) to foster community outreach, member engagement, career and professional development, and group growth. The goal is to empower student groups to implement impactful programs, enhance unity, and contribute to the advancement and cohesion of their communities in alignment with ACS core values. Funding can be used for a wide variety of student-led events, including outreach, retreats, workshops, and initiatives that build a vibrant, inclusive student community. --- ## Due Dates - There is no fixed deadline; applications are accepted year-round and reviewed every two weeks in the order received. - Funding is limited and awarded on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis. --- ## Funding Amount - Maximum request: **Up to $1,000 per application** - Each eligible group may receive this award **up to two times per year** - Funds are sent to the university or chapter bank account; may be used as reimbursement if funds arrive after the event --- ## Eligibility - Open to **active ACS Student Chapters**, **ACS International Student Chapters**, and **ACS Graduate Student Organizations (GSOs)** - To be considered active: - Must have at least **six members** with an [ACS student membership (premium package)](https://www.acs.org/membership.html) - For Student Chapters and International Student Chapters: must have chartered, reactivated, or [submitted a report](https://www.acs.org/education/student-communities/reports.html) within the last three years - For GSOs: must have submitted an annual report at least once every three years - Faculty advisor must be an ACS member with a Standard or Premium package - Only one application per group per review cycle --- ## Application Process 1. If your group does not have a dedicated email, create one for your student community. 2. [Create an account in the ACS grant application system](https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=acs) (separate from your ACS member ID). 3. Select "Apply" under the Applicant Menu and choose "2026 ACS Student Communities Engagement Grant." 4. Complete the application form, including: - Proposal name, event date/location, budget, detailed expenses, sources of other funding, event description, goals, connection to ACS core values, assessment plan, planning team, and chemical safety considerations (including [RAMP analysis](https://institute.acs.org/acs-center/lab-safety/safety-basics-and-ramp/what-is-ramp.html)) 5. Upload required materials; you may save and edit your application before final submission. 6. Submit the application. A confirmation email will be sent within one business day. 7. Applications are reviewed every two weeks; selected proposals favor meaningful activities and well-reasoned use of funds. 8.
