ACS Student Communities Inclusion Grant supports student chapters and graduate student organizations with professional development funding to address barriers and advance inclusion and belonging in chemistry.

Funding Amounts: Up to $1,000 USD per proposal; up to two awards per student community per calendar year

Description
The American Chemical Society (ACS) supports professional development endeavors that advance its Core Value of Inclusion and Belonging within Student Chapters, International Student Chapters, and Graduate Student Organizations (GSOs). The program funds opportunities such as courses, training, and materials that help create environments where people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, perspectives, and experiences can thrive.
Proposals should connect professional development with efforts to address barriers facing non-dominant groups in chemistry broadly or at the applicant’s university. Applicants describe the groups their activity addresses, barriers to representation and advancement, and how the proposed work will help change those barriers. Selection favors impactful activities and well-reasoned use of funds.
