--- ## Description This grant aims to foster inclusive environments within ACS student communities—specifically Student Chapters, International Student Chapters, and Graduate Student Organizations—by supporting professional development activities that advance the ACS Core Value of Inclusion and Belonging. Funding can be used for courses, training, materials, and other initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and a sense of belonging among students in chemistry. --- ## Due Dates - Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed every two weeks. - There is no fixed deadline; applicants may apply at any time while funds are available. --- ## Funding Amount - Maximum award: **Up to $1,000 USD per proposal** - Each eligible group may receive this grant **up to two times per calendar year** - Funding is limited and awarded based on the merit and impact of the proposal --- ## Eligibility - **Who can apply:** - Faculty advisors and student leaders of active ACS Student Chapters, ACS International Student Chapters, or ACS Graduate Student Organizations (GSOs) - **Active status requirements:** - At least six members with current ACS student membership (premium package) - For student chapters and international student chapters: must have chartered, reactivated, or submitted a report within the last three years - **Eligible uses:** - Professional development activities that specifically promote inclusion and belonging within the ACS student community --- ## Application Process 1. **Create a student community email** (if you do not already have one). 2. **Register for an account** in the [ACS grant application portal](https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=acs). 3. Select **"Apply"** under the Applicant Menu and choose **"2026 ACS Student Communities Inclusion Grant"**. 4. Complete the application form and upload required materials: - Proposal name - Event date and location - Budget and total amount requested - Detailed list of expenses and sources of other funding (if any) - Event description and intended audience - Planning team and roles (including involvement of non-chapter communities, if applicable) - Discussion of non-dominant groups targeted and barriers addressed - Plan for assessing event success 5. **Submit the application** (saved drafts are not considered submitted until the "Submit Application" button is clicked). 6. You will receive a confirmation email within one business day after submission. --- ## Additional Information - **Notification:** Awarded funds are sent to the university or chapter bank account. If funds do not arrive before the event, they may be used as reimbursement for direct out-of-pocket costs. - **Reporting:** A final report is required within 30 days of completing the funded activity.
