The ACSUS-Enders Graduate Fellowship in Canada–U.S. Relations is administered by the Association for Canadian Studies in the United States (ACSUS), guided by the priorities of the Thomas O. Enders Endowment. It supports graduate students conducting research in Canada for a thesis or dissertation substantially related to Canada, Canada–U.S. relations, or comparative policies in North America. The fellowship encourages advanced scholarship and in-depth Canadian content in policy-relevant comparative research.
Priority topics include political and economic policy, trade, energy, defense and security cooperation, border management, softwood lumber, environment and natural resource management, and agriculture. Other areas of interest include comparative urban planning, health care delivery, multicultural educational policies, and environmental law. The endowment honors former U.S. Ambassador to Canada Thomas O. Enders and aims to improve mutual understanding between the two countries.
