Description
This program provides performance-based grants to local governments in Pennsylvania that operate recycling programs. Funding is determined by the total tons of materials recycled and the recycling rate achieved by the applicant. The grant is designed to incentivize and reward municipalities for effective recycling, with additional support and special consideration given to projects benefiting Environmental Justice (EJ) areas.
The program is funded by a recycling fee on waste disposed in Pennsylvania landfills or processed by resource recovery facilities.
