Description
The ACT for FOP Grant Program, offered by the International FOP Association (IFOPA), supports translational research to accelerate the development of safe, transformative therapies for fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP). The program funds projects focused on FOP biology, early detection and monitoring of heterotopic bone formation, and novel therapeutic strategies for disease control and symptom management. High-priority areas include drug discovery/repurposing, mobility recovery, the impact of ACVR1 mutations on non-skeletal tissues, and the identification of genetic modifiers influencing FOP progression. The program encourages collaborative research and provides access to specialized resources such as FOP mouse models and patient-derived samples.
