The Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Research and Education Grant supports research-based projects that increase the knowledge base of the college union and student activities profession. It funds original work relevant to college unions, student activities, and the published ACUI research agenda. Projects should make a significant contribution to the profession, draw on relevant literature, use a clearly articulated research design, and identify expected implications.
The grant connects research with professional learning by requiring recipients to produce at least one research-focused article, educational session, or other ACUI resource. Past funded work has examined transfer students’ sense of belonging, equity in student-authored campus events, social justice education, extracurricular involvement, and college union employment.
