The ADA Foundation Disaster Relief Fund is a new 2026 program providing grants to state dental associations and their affiliated foundations to assist dentists affected by disasters in their state. Rather than funding research or practice recovery, the program supports urgent, short-term personal needs in the immediate aftermath of a disaster, such as food, water, clothing, medication, emergency shelter, transportation, and toiletries.
State recipients distribute individual grants to eligible dentists consistent with IRS disaster relief guidelines and report to the Foundation on their use of funds. The ADA Foundation determines awards at its sole discretion, considering the severity of the disaster, the number of dentists impacted, and available funds. Eligible disasters must occur in the United States or its territories.
