The David Adams Global Service Award is administered by the ASE Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the American Society of Echocardiography. It supports volunteer travel to the Foundation’s global health events rather than a separate research project. These outreach activities bring adult and pediatric cardiac care to underserved communities, provide direct patient services, and teach local clinicians enhanced techniques and skills.
Established in 2016, the award honors David B. Adams, ACS, RCS, RDCS, FASE, previously of Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. It recognizes his contributions to the Foundation’s humanitarian missions through international mission experience, clinical skills, and leadership. The annual travel award helps a first-time sonographer volunteer participate in this global service work.
