Description
The Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Wisconsin offers a comprehensive, one-year clinical training experience focused on the management of substance use disorders and co-morbid conditions. Accredited by the ACGME and recognized as a National Model Program, the fellowship equips physicians with expertise in assessment, integrated care, acute withdrawal management, chronic pain, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and patient counseling. Fellows rotate through diverse settings including outpatient clinics, hospital consults, opioid treatment programs, HIV/AIDS care, and multidisciplinary teams, under the guidance of nationally recognized faculty in addiction medicine and related fields. Successful completion enables fellows to sit for the board certification exam in Addiction Medicine.
