Description
The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) offers this annual award to recognize faculty members at U.S. and Canadian dental or allied dental education institutions who further Dr. Jeanne C. Sinkford’s dedication to academia and improving oral health outcomes for all. Supported by a gift from The Leonard and Valachovic Fund, the award honors a faculty recipient whose work encourages others to model her contributions to oral health education.
Dr. Sinkford was the first woman dean of a U.S. dental school and a leader in research mentoring, service and expanding access to dental education and care. The award emphasizes lifelong learning, compassion, integrity, research, service and leadership, with the goal of inspiring and empowering the next generation of dental and allied dental education leaders.
