Description
The DePaola Scholar fellowship supports a full-time dental school faculty member with recognizable leadership potential to participate in the ADEA Leadership Institute. Established through a commitment from Colgate-Palmolive Co. to the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), the fellowship provides tuition and fee support to prepare the recipient for a leadership position in an academic dental institution. It funds academic leadership development, not a separate endodontics research project.
Administered through ADEA’s Office of Learning, the fellowship honors Dominick P. DePaola, D.D.S., Ph.D., whose career encompassed dental education, research, patient care and academic administration. The Institute is a yearlong leadership development program for promising faculty and administrators at academic dental institutions. Its graduates have held roles including department chair, program director and dental school dean.
