Description
The Kansas Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway Program invites community groups, civic organizations, schools, businesses, and other entities to help maintain the cleanliness and beauty of Kansas highways. Participating groups commit to removing litter from an assigned highway section at least three times per year over a two-year period. In return, groups receive public recognition with signage posted along their adopted highway section and are eligible for a stipend to support their efforts. The program fosters environmental stewardship, civic pride, and helps protect Kansas’s land and waterways.
