Description
The New Hampshire Department of Education’s Bureau of Career Development funds adult education and literacy services under the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act, Title II of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. The grant supports instruction below the postsecondary level for people who need foundational or English language skills, including preparation for a secondary school diploma and transitions to postsecondary education, training, or employment. It may also support education in correctional settings.
Programs must use research-based instruction aligned with adult college, career, and English language standards and coordinate with New Hampshire’s workforce system. Partnerships, technology, and distance education can expand access. A separate application process covers Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education programs.
