Description
The ERC Advanced Grant is a highly competitive, annual funding scheme designed to empower outstanding, established researchers to pursue high-risk, high-reward research projects across all fields of science, scholarship, and engineering. It is open to Principal Investigators (PIs) with a proven record of significant research achievements and leadership. The scheme operates on a bottom-up basis, allowing applicants to propose topics of their choice without predetermined priorities. Grants are awarded to individual PIs hosted by public or private research organizations in an EU Member State or Associated Country, and support the formation of international research teams. Scientific excellence is the sole evaluation criterion.
