Funding Amounts: Up to €2.5 million for five years, plus up to €1 million additional funding (€2 million for eligible relocating PIs)

Description
The European Research Council’s Advanced Grant provides long-term support for active, established research leaders with significant research achievements. Funded through Horizon Europe and administered by the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA), it supports a single Principal Investigator (PI) independently leading a research project and, where appropriate, a team. Researchers may also work individually.
The programme operates bottom-up, without predetermined thematic priorities, across life sciences, physical and engineering sciences, and social sciences and humanities. It welcomes interdisciplinary research, emerging fields, and unconventional approaches that advance the frontier of knowledge. Scientific excellence is the sole evaluation criterion, assessed through the ambition and ground-breaking nature of the project together with the PI’s intellectual capacity, creativity, and scientific expertise.
