The Advanced Industries Proof of Concept Grant, administered by Colorado OEDIT’s Global Business Development division, helps Colorado research institutions accelerate applied research and commercialize products and services with the private sector. It supports precommercial research and commercialization preparation, not basic research. Supported milestones include proof of principle, intellectual property protection, prototypes and technical validation, market assessment, and start-up and corporate formation costs.
The program targets disruptive technologies representing a significant departure from currently available technology. Projects must directly impact at least one of Colorado’s seven advanced industries: advanced manufacturing, aerospace, bioscience, electronics, energy and natural resources (including cleantech), infrastructure engineering, or technology and information. Its broader intent is to license technologies to organizations pursuing commercial development with the majority of their operations in Colorado.
