Funds research to develop advanced European manufacturing technologies that boost circularity, resource efficiency, and industrial competitiveness for key products.
Funder: European Commission
Due Dates: February 2, 2027
Funding Amounts: €6M–€8M per project | Total budget: €36M | 6 awards expected
Summary: Supports development of advanced manufacturing technologies and machinery in Europe to boost circularity, resource efficiency, and industrial competitiveness for key products.
Key Information: Single-stage application; international cooperation (esp. Japan/Taiwan) encouraged; battery production not in scope.
This funding opportunity supports research and innovation actions aimed at developing advanced manufacturing technologies and machinery in Europe. The goal is to enable the production of key and high-performance products with increased circularity, resource efficiency, and reduced reliance on critical or imported raw materials. Projects should address manufacturing excellence by integrating innovative technologies, making better use of advanced and secondary raw materials, and minimizing the use of critical resources.
The scope covers a wide range of advanced manufacturing areas, including additive and hybrid manufacturing, photonics, advanced joining, composite manufacturing, surface treatment, and in-line testing. Proposals should present a strong business case and exploitation strategy for industrialization, targeting enhanced technological leadership, competitiveness, and resilience for European industry. While the use of innovative materials (e.g., lightweight, functionalized, or self-healing materials) is encouraged, developing these materials should not be the main focus.
