Description
The Virginia Department of Education’s competitive Advancing Computer Science Education Grant supports implementation of the 2024 Computer Science Standards of Learning. Funded work can strengthen professional learning for current and future teachers; develop curriculum, instructional resources, and assessments; or provide sustained student learning experiences, including summer and after-school programs.
The program also supports computer science career exposure and work-based learning for high school students and expanded access to advanced secondary coursework. Projects should demonstrate measurable improvements in educator practice or student learning and prioritize at-risk students and schools. Partnerships can help extend a project’s reach; qualifying consortium proposals receive priority consideration.
