Description
This grant aims to extend the lifespan and sustainability of existing buildings by supporting projects that develop innovative, circular, and environmentally sustainable maintenance and repair solutions. Successful proposals must create at least one life cycle assessment (LCA)-based decision-support tool for predictive maintenance, as well as a package of measures integrating circularity, financial feasibility, and minimal user disruption. Demonstrations are required on three buildings (including one heritage and one social/affordable housing project) across different EU Member States or Associated Countries. Projects must be participatory and transdisciplinary, involving building users and owners, and including expertise from social sciences and humanities. The goal is to enable widespread adoption of predictive maintenance and repair practices, contributing to Europe’s climate, circular economy, and quality-of-life objectives.
