The American Epilepsy Society (AES) Seed Grant Program supports established investigators pursuing new and innovative directions in epilepsy research, introducing new research methods—especially cutting-edge techniques—and developing new collaborations, particularly with researchers outside traditional epilepsy research. Proposals are welcome across basic, translational, clinical, and outcomes-related epilepsy research.
The awards fund preliminary investigations that lay the groundwork for subsequent grants from government, industry, or other funding sources. Their goal is to advance the understanding, treatment, and prevention of epilepsy. Proposed work must represent a new direction that could not be initiated without seed funding, with a workplan appropriate to the award’s budget and one-year timeframe.
