Description
The Affordable Housing Fund supports technical assistance and housing assistance for nonprofits and government entities addressing housing needs in West Virginia. The Legislature created the program in 2001, and the West Virginia Housing Development Fund (WVHDF) began administering it in 2018. Its purpose includes encouraging stronger partnerships, collaboration, and greater local community involvement in meeting the state’s housing needs.
The program’s loan products cover affordable housing predevelopment, permanent gap financing for homeownership and rental projects, organizational technical assistance, housing counseling, and housing development or preservation. These activities combine support for housing projects with assistance that builds organizations’ capacity to deliver housing services.
