Description
Created by the Utah Legislature in 2025, the Affordable Housing Infrastructure Grant supports public infrastructure needed to facilitate affordable housing in Salt Lake County. Funding covers planning and design, followed by construction, for infrastructure supporting affordable rental and owner-occupied, for-sale homes. The program uses separate applications for planning and design and for construction.
The Affordable Housing Infrastructure Grant Board ranks proposals and awards grants, with staff support and grant processes provided by the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity. Review considers the value and number of housing units produced and the value of applicant matching contributions. For highway infrastructure, priority goes to regionally significant public highways connecting to other highways or points of regional significance.
