Description
The African American Legacy Fund (AALF), an initiative of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, supports a vibrant and equitable region where Black and African Americans have the opportunities and resources to prosper. Its grants use trust-based grantmaking to provide general operating support, helping nonprofits maximize the impact of their missions rather than restricting funding to a defined project.
Founded in 2013 by educator, philanthropist, and civic leader Dr. Anna Jolivet, AALF works to improve quality of life for Black and African Americans in Southern Arizona. Alongside regional philanthropic grantmaking, the fund supports leadership development and fosters connections among grantees to better serve the community.
