Description
The AFRL Science and Technology Fellowship Program (STFP), funded by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, provides postdoctoral and senior scientists and engineers opportunities to conduct research at sponsoring Air Force laboratory sites. The program gives researchers of unusual promise and ability scope to solve problems largely of their own choice, provided the work is compatible with the interests of their host laboratories.
The fellowships contribute to the laboratories’ broader scientific and engineering efforts while supporting associates’ proposed research. The National Academy of Sciences, National Research Council (NRC), administers the program and provides stipends. Associates carry out their research as independent contractors.
