Key Information: Applicants must be active AGA trainee members at North American institutions, with an AGA member sponsor in good standing.
The AGA Research Foundation Fellow Abstract Award encourages careers in gastroenterology and hepatology research by recognizing clinical and postdoctoral fellows with exceptional abstracts accepted for presentation at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW). It supports travel for abstract-based oral or poster presentations rather than funding a separate research project. The top-scoring abstract receives the Fellow Abstract of the Year designation.
The program supports fellows with MD, PhD or equivalent degrees in North America. Selection focuses on the significance of the research, clarity of the abstract and the applicant’s contribution. A committee comprising members of the AGA Institute Research Awards Panel reviews applications and selects recipients.
