The American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), through its AGA Research Foundation, provides these travel awards to stimulate interest in gastroenterology and hepatology research careers among young investigators outside North America. The awards recognize exceptional abstracts accepted for oral or poster presentation at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW).
The program supports early-career basic, translational and clinical investigators sharing their research at DDW, rather than funding a separate research project. Selection focuses on the significance of the research, clarity of the abstract and the applicant’s contribution. A selection committee drawn from the AGA Institute Research Awards Panel reviews applications and selects recipients.
