The AGA Research Foundation Student Abstract Award provides travel support and recognition to graduate students, medical students and medical residents with exceptional abstracts accepted for presentation at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW). Its goal is to stimulate interest in gastroenterology and hepatology research careers. The award recognizes original research related to diseases, structure or function of the digestive system and supports oral or poster presentations, rather than funding a new research project.
The top-scoring abstract is designated the Student Abstract of the Year. The program also includes the AGA–Eric Esrailian Student Abstract Prize and the AGA–Radhika Srinivasan Student Abstract Prize. Selection recognizes the significance of the research, clarity of the abstract and the applicant’s contribution.
