Description
Agri-Business Grants are administered by the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) as part of its Transportation Economic Development Grants program. They help local governments construct or reconstruct roads and streets serving new or expanded agricultural production or service businesses. Examples include ethanol plants and large-scale grain elevators, whose additional truck traffic may exceed the capacity of existing roads.
The program seeks to foster economic development and enhance community access in South Dakota. Funded roads must serve as primary access to an agriculture-related business. SDDOT works closely with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), and the South Dakota Transportation Commission gives final approval to awards.
