Description
The Agricultural Clean Water Initiative Program (AgCWIP), administered by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets Water Quality Division, funds local and regional partners working with Vermont farms. It expands access to personalized, free or low-cost education and technical assistance that would otherwise be limited or unavailable. Priorities include agricultural water quality regulatory compliance, reduced pollution from agricultural sources, and the economic and environmental viability of Vermont farms.
Supported work includes workshops, nutrient management planning, conservation project identification and design, precision agriculture training, equipment rental programs, and water, soil, and manure sampling. Partners also help farms with grant applications and reporting. The program emphasizes community, regional, or statewide benefits rather than individual farm conservation projects.
