Description
The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) administers the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP), which the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) features among its habitat conservation resources. ACEP uses easements to protect, restore, and enhance wetlands, grasslands, and working farms and ranches.
Agricultural Land Easements (ACEP-ALE) help keep productive land in agricultural use while conserving grazing land, habitat, environmental quality, historic resources, and open space. Wetlands Reserve Easements (ACEP-WRE) help restore and protect wetlands for wildlife habitat, water quality, flood reduction, groundwater recharge, and biodiversity.
