Description
The Agricultural Environmental Enhancement Program (AEEP) is administered by the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources and is now part of the Agricultural Climate Resiliency (ACRE) Program under the Climate Smart Agriculture Grant Programs (CSAP). The program provides reimbursement funding to support equipment and infrastructure projects that improve water management, soil health, nutrient management, and environmental stewardship on Massachusetts agricultural operations. The goal is to help farms increase resilience to climate change, adopt innovative conservation practices, and promote sustainable agriculture.
Projects funded through AEEP/ACRE may include improvements in irrigation efficiency, soil health (such as no-till and reduced tillage equipment), nutrient and manure management, environmental monitoring, and climate adaptation measures. Applicants are encouraged to propose projects that have clear, measurable environmental or climate-related benefits and align with the program’s focus on long-term agricultural sustainability.
