Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture administers this program to advance the competitiveness, resilience, environmental stewardship, and vitality of farms, agribusinesses, and agricultural support services. It supports practical implementation of ideas that address agricultural challenges in new, novel, or more efficient ways. Funding covers strategic planning, implementation on individual farms or properties, and projects serving multiple agricultural businesses.
Projects may improve energy efficiency, water quality, water conservation, odor control, or solid-waste management; advance agricultural production, processing, commercialization, or use; and generate energy from manure, food waste, or biomass. Other priorities include low-carbon energy equipment, farm management and diagnostic technologies, efficient sorting and grading, plant and animal health, biosecurity, cybersecurity, and data analytics. The program also supports crops that store carbon or replace non-renewable resources.
