Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Plastic Recycling Program funds sustainable systems for collecting, processing, and recycling used agricultural plastics. Its goals are to reduce material sent to landfills and strengthen local collection and recycling infrastructure. Materials may include silage bags, bunker silo covers, bale wrap and twine, hoop house covers, planting trays and containers, row covers, and mulch film.
Projects should recruit and train participating farms, build markets for recovered plastic, and establish recycling operations that can continue without Commonwealth funding. Proposals should show how materials will be collected and prepared for recycling, connected with markets, and handled through a sustainable program.
