Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Agriculture and Youth Program supports projects that create and sustain agricultural education and workforce development programs for youth. It offers direct and matching grants to youth-centered organizations to develop agricultural, leadership, and vocational skills while strengthening peer relationships. Supported activities include educational seminars, field trips, career exploration experiences, and agricultural safety training.
The program also supports equipment purchases and capital projects used to deliver agricultural education and workforce development. These may include acquiring, developing, improving, or maintaining long-lived assets, as well as facility and building improvements. Examples include laboratory and agricultural equipment, greenhouse structures, watering systems, gardening supplies, and supplies related to project activities.
