Description
The Campbell Foundation’s Agriculture Program supports efforts to improve Chesapeake Bay water quality while maintaining economically viable farms today and in the future. Its geographic priorities are Delmarva and Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, within the broader Chesapeake Bay watershed. The program recognizes agriculture’s importance to regional economic stability and emphasizes collaborative conservation through innovation, advocacy, and industry engagement.
Supported work addresses manure and commercial fertilizer application, nitrogen and phosphorus use, and nutrient and sediment loads entering the Bay. The Foundation also supports efforts to overcome collaboration barriers among industrial agriculture, small farmers, community organizations, and government entities. Its approach emphasizes trustful partnerships, science-informed conservation, improved nutrient-use efficiency, and easier access to conservation funding. Organizations aligned with Agriculture priorities can be considered through the Foundation’s unsolicited General Support grant process.
