Description
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture administers AgTrack as a competitive cost-share incentive for starting or expanding agricultural, food, and forestry enterprises. The program supports job creation and economic development, focusing on value-added and processing projects that benefit other producers or forest landowners. Supported work includes processing farm products, creating new markets, expanding production or processing capacity, and bringing agricultural or forestry technology to market.
Applicants must demonstrate strong potential to improve local farm income, access to markets, business capacity, or agricultural innovation. Priority goes to businesses in at-risk or distressed counties and counties adjoining them. Examples include grain elevators, food and beverage processors purchasing from Tennessee farmers, meat processing facilities, expanding sawmills, and manufacturing or marketing new agricultural innovations.
