--- ## Description The Ahmanson Foundation provides grants to 501(c)(3) public charity organizations that are based in and serve Los Angeles County. The Foundation prioritizes support for one-time or short-term capital projects, including construction, renovation, equipment, furnishings, technology infrastructure, program vehicles, and supplies. Occasionally, operational or program support may be considered for organizations with a proven track record of outstanding programs. The Foundation’s philanthropic interests include arts and humanities, education, health and medicine, and human services. --- ## Due Dates - Applications are accepted and reviewed throughout the year (rolling deadline). - Organizations may reapply 12–18 months after a previous funding decision. --- ## Funding Amount - Grant amounts vary based on project scope and need. - Funding is typically for one-time or short-term capital projects rather than ongoing operational support. - Requests for capital campaigns are considered only if 60–80% of campaign funds are already secured and completion is anticipated within one year of submission. - Occasional operational/program support is available for organizations with a strong track record. --- ## Eligibility Eligible applicants must: - Be a 501(c)(3) public charity, not a private foundation (per IRC 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2)). - Be based in and serve Los Angeles County. - Have operated for at least 3–5 years with stable leadership. - Wait 12–18 months between requests, whether approved or declined.
