Description
The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), part of UK Research and Innovation, supports applicant-led collaborative research within its arts and humanities remit. Projects can involve one or several institutions, researchers in different disciplines, practitioners, other sectors and international collaborators. For interdisciplinary projects, the arts and humanities must lead the research questions and methods. Elements of individual research can be included where they add value to the collaboration.
The scheme aims to establish or strengthen effective working relationships and give less experienced researchers opportunities to develop expertise and careers through collaboration with senior colleagues and project leadership. It also seeks to maximise research outcomes through communication and dissemination outside academia and, where appropriate, knowledge transfer to research communities and other settings.
