Description
This lead-agency opportunity supports joint UK–US research within the remits of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the US National Science Foundation’s Social, Behavioural and Economic Sciences Directorate (NSF-SBE). Their agreement enables collaborative applications to be assessed through a lead agency on behalf of both organisations.
The programme funds well-defined projects that establish or strengthen relationships among researchers, practitioners and organisations benefiting from the work. It encourages less experienced researchers to develop through collaboration with senior colleagues and by leading projects themselves. Projects should communicate outcomes beyond academia and, where appropriate, support knowledge transfer. Interdisciplinary collaborations are welcome, but arts and humanities should lead the research questions and methods. Individual research may be included where it adds value to the collaboration.
