Description
AI Opportunity is a MacArthur Foundation program focused on expanding who creates, uses, and benefits from artificial intelligence. It responds to AI’s potential to transform social, cultural, and economic life—from classrooms and the arts to workplaces—and to the concern that its integration is often not community-centered. The program aims to give future generations pathways to engage with AI productively and equitably.
Its developing grantmaking strategy focuses on the intersection of AI, the economy, and the workforce, with particular attention to young people in Chicago. Other priorities are community-centered AI development and use, and nonprofit applications of AI.
