Description
The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) Society Outreach Grant Program supports societies in planning and implementing outreach activities in their local communities. Events should promote archaeology and the AIA’s mission, focus on public outreach and education, and aim to attract new members to the AIA and the local society.
The program encourages innovative activities that other societies can replicate and that go beyond the regular lecture program supported by the national office. Lectures may qualify when they differ meaningfully from routine programming—for example, by reaching new audiences, developing partnerships, offering educational programs, or increasing visibility within a community segment. Preference is given to new projects.
