The American Institute of Bangladesh Studies (AIBS) offers Professional Development Fellowships for Bangladeshi scholars employed at its partner universities in Bangladesh. Fellows visit U.S. host universities to work with faculty members, develop research agendas, use library facilities, and receive hands-on training in academic writing and publication.
The program supports professional development through faculty collaboration and access to host-institution resources. Visits also include plans for a public-facing event, such as a community-based seminar, public talk, or online seminar. These events showcase the scholar’s research, collaborations emerging from the visit, or both. Fellowship funds support expenses associated with the visit, including transportation, lodging, food, educational materials, and software.
