Description
The American Institute of Mathematics (AIM) hosts focused workshops in all areas of the mathematical sciences. Each workshop centers on a specific mathematical objective: making progress on a significant unsolved problem, understanding the proof of an important new result, or exploring the convergence of two distinct areas of mathematics. Broad topics suited to large conferences are not appropriate for this program.
Workshops last five days and emphasize collaboration through a limited number of talks, discussion sessions, and organized working groups. Proposals should explain why the topic is timely, what outcomes are anticipated, and why a focused workshop is the appropriate venue. AIM is one of the National Science Foundation Mathematical Sciences Institutes and receives major funding from the NSF and the Fry Foundation.
