The American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS) offers Short-Term Research Grants to support research travel to Pakistan for visits lasting up to three months. The grants cover airfare and living expenses, making research time in Pakistan the central focus of the award. Graduate students are strongly encouraged to apply, and applicants may hold any citizenship.
Funded travel is restricted to Islamabad and/or Lahore, with Karachi potentially available for research purposes after consultation with the AIPS office. AIPS strongly recommends affiliation with an academic institution in Pakistan during the award. The program is administered by AIPS, a binational nonprofit research and education organization that promotes the academic study of Pakistan and scholarly exchange between the United States and Pakistan.
