Description
The Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Office of Aeronautics supports projects at local public airports across Minnesota. Airport Grants fund capital improvements, planning, and fuel infrastructure intended to maintain airport assets and improve the safety and continued operation of the statewide system. Funded work has included runway, taxiway, and apron rehabilitation; obstruction removal; drainage and stormwater improvements; fencing and lighting; terminal repairs; and planning for clear zones and airport zoning.
The investments align with MnDOT’s Strategic Plan and Minnesota State Aviation System Plan. Their stated priorities include safety, equity and community vitality, climate action, transportation options and integration, and asset management.
