Description
The Ohio Department of Transportation’s Office of Aviation administers the Ohio Airport Improvement Program to improve airport safety and utility, consistent with the Ohio Airport System Plan. The program helps support Ohio’s system of 104 publicly owned, public use airports through financial assistance for airport property and facilities.
Assistance includes direct and supplemental direct grants for general aviation airports, plus matching grants for general aviation and commercial or cargo service airports. Direct grants emphasize maintenance, rehabilitation, and improvement of existing infrastructure, including obstruction removal, pavement markings, lighting, navigational aids, and pavement rehabilitation.
