The AIST Foundation Steel Professor program is designed to maintain formal engagement between the steel industry and academia by recognizing faculty who have previously received and completed three years of the Kent D. Peaslee Junior Faculty Award. The program supports these professors in promoting steel-related activities at their institutions, such as organizing “Steel Day” events, encouraging student participation in scholarships and internships, and serving as ambassadors for the steel industry. Professors are expected to submit annual reports on their activities and help bridge connections between students, universities, and the steel sector.
