Description
The AIST Foundation Steel Professor designation recognizes and maintains connections with past recipients of the Kent D. Peaslee Junior Faculty Award (KDP JFA) and their universities. The program aims to encourage ongoing engagement with the steel industry by supporting professors in fostering student interest in steel-related careers, organizing events such as "Steel Day," facilitating plant tours, research projects, and promoting AIST Foundation opportunities to students. Designated professors serve as ambassadors for the steel industry, encourage student participation in scholarships, internships, and professional development events, and provide annual reports on their steel-related activities for AIST promotional use.
