Description
The AJS Scholars of Color Fellowship is an initiative of the Association for Jewish Studies aimed at fostering mentorship and building a supportive community for scholars of color who are advancing Jewish Studies scholarship. The fellowship connects emerging and established scholars with experienced mentors and provides opportunities for professional growth, networking, and collaborative engagement. The program is designed specifically for racialized scholars who are underrepresented in academia or have been directly impacted by their lived experiences as people of color.
Fellows participate in a series of virtual mentorship and professional development sessions throughout the academic year, culminating in required attendance at the AJS Annual Conference. The fellowship emphasizes inclusion, professional support, and creating pathways for greater representation within Jewish Studies.
