Description
The A.L. Lewis Black Opportunity & Impact Fund, administered by the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, supports nonprofit organizations and neighborhood programs in Jacksonville’s Duval County. Its small grants help residents collaborate and use their skills, experiences, and expertise to strengthen Black communities and improve health, education, and economic opportunities.
The fund supports economic development that expands access to inclusive economic opportunities, educational resources that help individuals and organizations succeed in careers, businesses, or industries, and health initiatives addressing social, racial, and economic barriers to well-being. Established by 22 community stewards in 2022, this collective giving initiative carries forward the legacy of entrepreneur and philanthropist Abraham Lincoln Lewis.
